World's 50 Best Hotels

World's 50 Best Hotels is an annual ranking launched in 2023 by William Reed Business Media, the publisher of the World's 50 Best Restaurants (which has run since 2002). The methodology copies the restaurant franchise: a 580-member Hotel Academy panel divided into regions, each voter nominates seven hotels they've actually stayed at in the past 24 months, with at least three outside their home region. Annual awards ceremony in September. For travelers, the ranking is new but commercial weight is building fast because the 50 Best Restaurants format has proven its viral reach. 2024 winners included Passalacqua (Lake Como), Rosewood Hong Kong, Cheval Blanc Paris, Capella Bangkok, and Aman Tokyo. Worth watching for ultra-luxury booking influence into 2026.
