Willamette Valley

Willamette Valley refers to the leading wine region of Oregon, in the United States, south of Portland. Its cool, damp climate, often compared to that of Burgundy, makes it a favoured home for pinot noir, the grape that built its international reputation. Chardonnay and pinot gris also flourish there. Volcanic and sedimentary soils, combined with long, mild autumns, yield elegant reds marked by fresh acidity and delicate, expressive red fruit character.
