White wine serving temperature
White wine serving temperature usually sits between 7 and 13 degrees Celsius. Crisp, aromatic whites such as sauvignon are served cool, around 7 to 10 degrees, while fuller, oak-aged whites like a barrel-fermented chardonnay benefit from roughly 10 to 13 degrees. Excessive chilling numbs the aromas and masks the texture, whereas a temperature that runs too high exposes the acidity and alcohol in a raw, unbalanced way on the palate.
