A welcome amenity is the gift waiting in your room when you arrive at a luxury hotel. The basic version (most upscale and luxury properties): a plate of fresh fruit, bottle of water, and a handwritten welcome card. For loyalty program members or repeat guests: add chocolates, a half-bottle of champagne or local wine, or seasonal sweets. For VIPs (high-tier loyalty status, celebrities, journalists, anniversary celebrations): elaborate custom gifts, flowers, a cheese plate, signed book referencing your interests, or a curated local product. The handwritten note from the General Manager is the consistent element across all tiers. To trigger a better amenity: mention your occasion in advance ("we're celebrating our 10th anniversary"), be a loyalty member, or stay multiple times.
