Vermouth
Vermouth refers to an aromatized, fortified wine flavoured with wormwood and a blend of botanicals, barks and spices. It comes as sweet red, as bianco and as pale, dry versions. A pivotal bar ingredient, it shapes the dry martini with gin, the Manhattan with whiskey and the negroni with sweet red vermouth. Its historic houses cluster in Turin, in Italy, and in Chambéry, in France.
