The Connaught
The Connaught is a Mayfair palace hotel in London, opened in 1815 as the Prince of Saxe-Coburg Hotel on what became Carlos Place. Rebuilt in the late nineteenth century, it reopened in 1897 as the Coburg Hotel. In 1917, amid the First World War, it took the less German name Connaught, drawn from the title of Prince Arthur, Queen Victoria's third son. Today it belongs to the Maybourne Hotel Group.
