Tasting menu
A tasting menu is a chef-curated sequence of small plates designed to showcase the kitchen's range and signature techniques. Expect 7 to 15 courses over 2 to 4 hours, with prices typically ranging from 80 to 500+ EUR per person depending on the restaurant's stature. Wine pairings (called "pairing flights") add 50-100% to the bill. Practical advice: arrive hungry but not starving, eat a light lunch, and block the entire evening, these meals run long. Allergies and dietary restrictions (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, pescatarian) should be communicated 24-48 hours ahead. Many restaurants offer a vegetarian tasting menu version. Pace yourself, hydrate, and don't fill up on bread.
