Tastevin
The tastevin is a small, shallow silver cup, traditionally Burgundian, used to judge the clarity and colour of a wine. Its facets and convex base catch the light of dim cellars and reflect it through the liquid. Often worn on a chain around the neck, it has become a symbol of the sommelier's craft. The Confrerie des Chevaliers du Tastevin, founded in 1934 at Clos de Vougeot, adopted it as its enduring emblem.
