Taste of terroir
Taste of terroir describes the sensory imprint that a production site leaves on a wine, independent of grape variety or vintage. It appears as recurring aromatic and gustatory nuances attributed to the plot's soil, subsoil and microclimate. Frequently invoked to distinguish two neighbouring crus made from the same grape, this concept remains scientifically debated yet stays central to professional tasting and appellation discourse.
