Swizzle
The swizzle refers to a mixing technique using crushed ice, performed by spinning a stick (the swizzle stick) rapidly between the palms while it sits in the glass. The friction chills the drink intensely and forms a frosted mist on the outside. Originating in the Caribbean, where the shrub used for the original stick grew, the method defines the Queen's Park Swizzle and rum-based tiki drinks.
