Snowboarding

A snow-sliding discipline practised standing on a single board with both feet fixed across it, as opposed to two separate skis. Born in the 1970s, snowboarding became an Olympic sport and divides into freestyle, freeride and alpine forms. It shares the pistes and snowparks of ski areas. Resorts with mountain palaces welcome snowboarders alongside skiers, with dedicated instructors and infrastructure to serve every style of sliding on snow.
