Snehana

The therapeutic oleation of Ayurveda, internal or external, that lubricates the body to mobilise toxins. Externally it covers medicated-oil massage; internally it means ingesting medicated ghee. A preparatory stage of panchakarma preceding Swedana, Snehana softens the tissues so that toxins migrate toward the digestive tract for elimination during palace cures.
