Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH)

Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) is a hotel marketing collection founded in 1991, with about 560 independent hotels in 90+ countries in 2025. Structural requirements: maximum 200 rooms (most are under 100), and independent or very loosely affiliated ownership. In 2021, SLH partnered with Hyatt, opening the World of Hyatt loyalty program to SLH bookings, a major strategic shift that boosted recognition. For travelers, SLH gives you global distribution (compatible with Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts and Virtuoso) while preserving editorial variety. Compared to Relais & Châteaux, SLH leans more urban and design-oriented, while R&C is more country house and gastronomy focused.
