Singing bowls
Singing bowls are metal (or crystal) bowls that produce sustained, harmonically rich tones when struck or rubbed with a wooden mallet. Traditional Tibetan bowls are made from an alloy of seven metals and have been used in Himalayan Buddhist practice since the 14th century. Crystal singing bowls, a modern variant, produce purer single-tone vibrations. How they're used in wellness: as part of sound baths, placed on or around the body during massage (the vibrations penetrate tissue), or as meditation aids. Some treatments place the bowl directly on the abdomen or back, transmitting vibrations through bone and water in the body. The experience is profoundly relaxing for most people. Available at most luxury spa programs as standalone sessions (60-120 EUR) or integrated into massages and yoga classes.
