Scherz Family

The Scherz family runs the Gstaad Palace, a Bernese Alps landmark opened in 1913 and originally conceived by schoolteacher Robert Steffen. Ernst and Silvia Scherz-Bezzola took over its management in 1938, the family becoming owners in 1947. Ernst Andrea Scherz later chaired the Leading Hotels of the World, and Andrea Scherz has led the property since 2001.
