Saint-Émilion

Saint-Émilion is a right bank appellation of Bordeaux, in the Libournais, where merlot leads the blends ahead of cabernet franc. The vineyard, whose landscape has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999, has its own classification revised periodically. Limestone slopes and clay gravel soils produce supple, fleshy and aromatic reds, generally more approachable in youth than the wines of the Médoc.
