Rolled pebbles

Rolled pebbles are stones smoothed by water, inherited from the ancient alluvial terraces of the Rhone, that cover part of the Chateauneuf-du-Pape vineyard. Storing the sun's heat during the day, they release it back to the vines at night, tempering thermal swings and encouraging advanced ripening of the grapes. They also ensure efficient drainage and limit evaporation by preserving moisture in the underlying soil.
