Pirouette

A complete turn of the body executed on a single foot, inward or outward, with the body centred over the supporting leg. The arms launch and steady the movement while the gaze fixes a point and recovers it through a rapid turn of the head, the spotting technique that prevents dizziness. Chained pirouettes punctuate the solos of the ballets proposed to palace guests, marking moments of controlled, spinning brilliance.
