Peychaud's bitters
Peychaud's is a brand of bitters created in New Orleans in the mid-nineteenth century by the Creole apothecary Antoine Amedee Peychaud. More floral and anise-forward than Angostura, it draws a bright red colour from its tincture. An indispensable ingredient of the Sazerac, the city's emblematic cocktail, it embodies the aromatic identity of historic Louisiana mixology.
