Pessac-Léognan

Pessac-Léognan is an appellation created in 1987 in the northern Graves, at the gates of Bordeaux, producing reds and dry whites. It holds Château Haut-Brion, the only Graves estate ranked among the first growths of the 1855 classification. The reds rest on cabernet sauvignon and merlot, while the whites pair sauvignon blanc with sémillon on renowned gravel soils laid down by ancient rivers over long geological time.
