Outdoor riding ring

An outdoor equestrian working area, generally rectangular and fenced, with a free-draining sand or fibre surface designed to cushion the horse's footfalls. The ring hosts flatwork, dressage and jump training. The quality of its footing governs safety and soundness. Equestrian resorts and country clubs maintain several rings, sometimes dedicated to particular disciplines, providing resident riders with optimal conditions and reinforcing the property's sporting credentials.
