Molasses rum

Molasses rum refers to a rum distilled from molasses, the syrupy residue left after refining cane sugar, rather than from fresh juice. This style dominates English and Spanish speaking Caribbean production, from Jamaica to Cuba, and delivers rounder, chocolatey, spice-driven profiles. Aged in oak casks, it anchors many tiki cocktails and infused rums, where its aromatic density blends readily with macerated fruit and spice.
