Mixing glass
The mixing glass refers to a sturdy vessel, often with a pouring spout, in which spirit-only cocktails are stirred with a bar spoon. Its thick wall limits temperature swings during the stir. Japanese Yarai models, cut with a diamond pattern, offer a secure grip and a sought-after look. The Martini and the Manhattan are prepared in it before being strained into the serving glass.
