Lap pool
A lap pool is a long, narrow swimming pool designed for swimming actual laps, typically 12 to 25 meters long but only 2 to 3 meters wide. The shape is the opposite of a kidney-shaped resort pool. You'll find lap pools in two contexts at luxury hotels: as the signature pool of the property (the indoor one at Aman Tokyo's 33rd floor is the iconic example), or as a private pool inside a villa or pool suite for guests who want to swim every morning without going to the public pool. Bulgari Hotels in Milan and Bali, Capella Singapore, Como Cocoa Island all do lap pools well. Big with serious swimmers and triathletes on holiday.
