Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc

The Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc is a palace hotel on the Cap d'Antibes on the French Riviera, whose property was built in 1870 as Villa Soleil by Hippolyte de Villemessant, founder of Le Figaro. Italian hotelier Antoine Sella bought it in 1887 and opened the Grand Hôtel du Cap in 1889. The Eden-Roc pavilion was built in 1914. American couple Gerald and Sara Murphy pioneered the fashion for summers on the Riviera there.
