Hotel Danieli (Venice)

The Hotel Danieli occupies the Palazzo Dandolo, a Venetian building erected in the late fourteenth century by the powerful Dandolo family, several of whom served as Doge. The Venetian Giuseppe Dal Niel, known as Danieli, leased its first floor from 24 October 1822 to house his guests, creating one of Europe's earliest luxury hotels. The adjoining Casa Nuova was annexed to the hotel in 1906.
