Giuseppe Cipriani

Giuseppe Cipriani (1900-1980), born in Verona, opened Harry's Bar in Venice on 13 May 1931, where he invented the Bellini cocktail and carpaccio. In 1956 he founded the Hotel Cipriani on the Giudecca island, a benchmark of Venetian hospitality. He established a family dynasty carried on by his son Arrigo at the head of an international group.
