Feijoada
Brazilian stew of black beans and cuts of pork, regarded as a national dish. The beans simmer at length with sausages, salted and smoked meats, then are served with rice, shredded collard greens, farofa and slices of orange. A hearty dish traditionally served at midday, it draws on Afro-Brazilian heritage and features in the regional cuisine of Brazil's palace hotels.
