Charles Forte

Charles Forte (1908-2007), an Italian-born hotelier who emigrated to Scotland, started from a single milk bar opened in London in 1935 to build a vast conglomerate. The 1970 merger with Trust Houses created Trust House Forte, owner of Grosvenor House in London and the George V in Paris. His son Rocco Forte later founded the Rocco Forte Hotels group.
