Butler service

['Personal butler', 'St. Regis butler service']

Butler service refers to the personal butler offering attached to a guest, a signature of the St. Regis brand since the New York property opened in 1904 under John Jacob Astor IV (Forbes Travel Guide official, 2026). The butler covers the entire stay : unpacking luggage, immediate ironing of creased garments, drawing the bath with iced tea, delivering the morning papers, organising confidential errands. The St. Regis butler completes 192 hours of internal training covering etiquette, basic sommellerie, behavioural anticipation and wardrobe coding. A lesser-known feature : since 2017 every St. Regis suite includes an e-Butler button connected to a centralised 24-hour team, with an average response time below 90 seconds. The service remains fully complimentary, financed by the brand's ADR positioning.
