Brunello di Montalcino

Brunello di Montalcino refers to a DOCG appellation in Tuscany, produced in the small commune of Montalcino in the province of Siena. The wine is made from one hundred percent sangiovese, known locally as brunello. Regulations mandate extended ageing, at least two years in oak cask followed by several months in bottle, giving this red wine great structure, depth and outstanding longevity that collectors seek out.
