Bali Uluwatu area

Uluwatu is the southwestern tip of Bali's Bukit Peninsula, in Badung regency, and the geographical and stylistic opposite of Ubud. Expect 70-100 meter limestone cliffs, world-class surf breaks (Uluwatu, Padang Padang, Bingin, Impossibles), and the eleventh-century Pura Luhur Uluwatu temple with its sunset Kecak fire dance. The climate is drier than Ubud and reliably windy, ideal for surf and kite. For travelers, Uluwatu and the wider Bukit concentrate Bali's cliffside resort scene: Bvlgari Resort Bali (designed by Antonio Citterio, 2006), Six Senses Uluwatu (2018), Alila Villas Uluwatu, and Sundara at Four Seasons Jimbaran. April to October is the optimal dry season window.
