Azulejo

A glazed ceramic tile, often in tones of blue, green, white and earth, assembled into panels of repeating geometric and arabesque patterns. Inherited from the Hispano-Moorish tradition, the azulejo clads the dados, fountains and courtyards of palaces across al-Andalus and the Iberian peninsula. It dresses the heritage spaces of Andalusian and Portuguese hotels with a cool, symbolic polychromy that evokes water, gardens and the order of the cosmos.
