Americano
The Americano refers to an Italian aperitif blending Campari, red vermouth and soda water, served over ice with an orange slice. Born in the bars of Milan during the late nineteenth century, it takes its name from the popularity it gained among American visitors. A direct ancestor of the Negroni, it belongs to the International Bartenders Association repertoire as a long, light and low-strength cocktail.
