Amarone della Valpolicella
Amarone della Valpolicella refers to a DOCG red wine from the Veneto, produced near Verona from indigenous grapes dominated by corvina. Its distinctiveness comes from the appassimento method, in which grapes are dried on racks for several months before pressing. The result is a dry, powerful and concentrated wine, high in alcohol, showing aromas of dried fruit and spice, matured at length in oak cask before bottling.
