Adagio

In dance, a slow and graceful movement in which the performer unfolds line, balance and control. Within a pas de deux, the adagio denotes the slow, lyrical section where the partners interlace in fluid lifts and supports. This moment of pure expressivity showcases the mastery and musicality of the dancers. The adagio constitutes an emotional summit of the ballets proposed to palace guests, where technique gives way to lyrical poise.
