Accord (perfumery)

A harmonious blend of two or more notes that, fused together, create a new and distinct scent greater than the sum of its parts. The accord is the building unit of a fragrance, such as the chypre or amber accord. Hotel signature scents are built around an identity accord, often later declined into palace candles, diffusers and amenities.
