100% agave tequila

One hundred percent agave tequila refers to a tequila distilled solely from the sugars of blue Weber agave, with no added sugars. It contrasts with mixto tequila, which may legally contain up to forty-nine percent non-agave sugars. Protected by a Mexican denomination of origin centred on the state of Jalisco, it forms the base of the margarita and the paloma, where its vegetal, peppery signature stays intact.
